Koru Whetū Matariki is formed from stylised koru fern fronds and kōwhaiwhai patterns that unfurl towards each point of the star. In Te Reo Māori, Matariki is the name for Pleiades, the star cluster whose rising signals the beginning of a new year. A cosmological guide to planting and harvesting, bringing whānau (family) and community together, connecting land, ocean, ancestors and future generations. Each whetū (star) casts shifting shadows as light moves across the wall, echoing the movement and rhythms of the seasons.
