The Polynesian Panther Faux Gold and Pango Polynesian Panther pays homage to the many Pacific Islanders who were ‘black-birded’ in the 1900’s to Latin America and Australia.
Created in 2017 these works speak to the imposed disconnect. The panthers Tatau patterns reflect altered marks – traditional Tatau is a personal unique code, a genealogy map.
